  • Blumat Small Pressure Kit - Automatic Irrigation System for up to 8 Plants-1

Blumat Small Pressure Kit - Automatic Irrigation System for up to 8 Plants

This small kit comes with a Pressure Reducer, which allows you to connect and operate your system with a hose/water faucet and/or a custom pump (pressurized) system. This kit comes with 8 Blumat carrots (5"), however, a system utilizing a pressure reducer can be expanded to have up to 500 different watering spots or drippers. Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients - and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Perfect for landscapers and home gardeners. It is easily installed with a pair of scissors and connects directly to your hose, tap or rain barrel with the help of the Pressure Reducer. This kit includes eight, 5" carrots and all parts required for a pressure-fed system. This kit includes a Pressure Reducer, which allows you to connect your Blumat system to a hose or rain barrel. The Tropf Blumat system is great for watering balcony boxes, planters, hanging baskets, and row crops. It fulfills the needs of the plants on an individual basis, regardless of their location, light levels, or plant type. Our systems save your plants from excessive and improper watering. Tropf Blumat systems are ideal for plant groupings that require consistent moisture, such as vegetable gardens, bushes, flower beds, grow bags and greenhouse containers. Not only do your plants receive the right amount of water, slow and consistent dripping ensures that your plants receive warmed water, avoiding shock. This Deck and Planter Kit is a great way to start your customized irrigation system. The flexible system can be expanded to include up to 500 drippers. See 'Blumat Accessories' to expand our systems to your specific needs. How it works The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops dripping water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Small Box Kit covers an area 12 inches in diameter. To expand and customize your own system, add additional Supply Hoses, Outdoor Sensors, and Distributor Drippers. PLEASE NOTE: This system does not include a water source. You must have a hose bib water source for this system to connect to. If you would like to convert the system to a stand-alone gravity system, see our 5-gallon Reservoirs below, sold with or without thru-hulls installed. Let us know if we can help you select the right products for your custom irrigation system! • Blumat Bulkhead Filter

Blumat GmbH & Co. KG Blumat Bulkhead Filter

    1 review

This new Blumat input filter fits on the Blumat Bulkhead Through-Hull Tank Connector, inside the reservoir and keeps sediment and leaves from getting into your supply line. It doesn’t fit on the older tank connectors we had before August 2023 though. The new ones (on the right in the picture below) have two tabs on the sides and a 6-sided jut on the input side, where the old ones have two parallel lines. An inexpensive "insurance policy," this could save you quite a bit of headache if your water doesn't always stay clean.

  • Blumat Backyard Irrigation Kit

    Blumat Backyard Irrigation Kit

    1 review

This kit supplies everything you need except for the water. Just put the 5 gallon bucket near where you want the irrigation, attach the XL Blumat Classic watering stakes, and insert them into the potting mix or soil. The Blumats wick moisture as the plants deplete it, irrigate on the plants schedule instead of an arbitrary timer, and saves precious water. To increase or decrease the moisture content in your containers, just raise or lower the bucket. UN secretary general, António Guterres, says "we've passed the era of global warming" and “the era of global boiling has arrived." According to new scientific studies, less moisture in the soil leads to more severe heat waves while more soil moisture lowers air temperature. We designed this kit as a simple and inexpensive way almost everyone can help. You can let it fill up from rain, from a hose, or normally-wasted water like the water from a sink, shower, or bath that goes down the drain while we wait for it to get hot (just put a watering can or container under the faucet). • Blumat Tropf 9" Maxi Sensors - 10 Pack-1

Blumat Tropf 9" Maxi Sensors - 10 Pack

    1 review

The Tropf-Blumat Maxi acts as a regulator and dripper, just like the standard 5” Tropf-Blumat. This one is 9 inches long though. You put it in the ground 6 - 7.5 inches so it senses the moisture at a deeper level. This is important when your plants get bigger because the regular Blumat sensor might turn the water off too soon. This one might turn it off too soon if your plant still has surface roots. Some growers use both - especially if they are growing in coco or a hydroponic system. The Tropf-Blumat (Drip-Blumat) is a sensor that supplies plants with drips of water via thin tubing. As the soil dries, its natural suction power triggers the opening of the Tropf Blumat allowing the water to flow. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the Tropf Blumat automatically stops. The system functions fully automatically. Every plant, every container or group of plants requires at least 1 Tropf-Blumat adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. Larger containers or surfaces require longer or more than one sensor. All Tropf-Blumats are connected using one supply tube, this allows for flexibility in the layout and is changeable at any time. Automatically waters individual plants and only when needed. There are a few options for a water source; you can either connect the system directly to your hose tap or rain barrel (with fittings not supplied with this product). • Sale -15% Blumat XL Classic Plant Watering Stakes

Blumat GmbH & Co. KG Blumat XL Classic Plant Watering Stakes

    38 reviews

High capacity Blumat Classics - for tropical and larger plants that need more water. Take a vacation and let your plants look after themselves. Blumat Classics ensure a constant supply of water. They automatically supply just the right amount - never too much or not enough. Your plants will love it. They won't experience the drying out that stunts growth or the over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps them from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat Junior will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply. This slow, continual feeding encourages prolific growth. Blumat Classics will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and the plants gradually dry out. Each Blumat Classic has a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Several cones may be necessary for larger plants in order to meet the higher water needs. In this case, a larger reservoir of water must also be available. Instructions Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl to soak for at least 15 minutes. Holding the cone and cap underwater, knock out the air bubbles in each piece and press the top on tightly. Push the ceramic cone completely into the soil. Extra large plants should be provided with two or three cones. Put the hose right to the bottom of a full container of water. Add a little liquid fertilizer if necessary. The level of water in the container should be level with or below the green cap. Raising or lowering the water container increases or reduces the flow rate. Maintenance Once a year, place the hose in hot water. Clean the inside of the ceramic cone with a brush and the outside with sandpaper or a pot scrubber type pad. Tips If you intend to be away from home for any length of time, ensure that the water container is large enough. Depending on type, size and season, a plant will require 1/4 to 1 litre (1 qt.) of water weekly. Delivery of water to the soil in the flower pots is automatic. If you do not refill the water container the Blumat will dry out. To restore the function, the Blumat Jr. must be refilled. (Follow steps 1-5).

  • BluSoak 50 to 75 Gallon Pot Kit - Economy-1

Maxi Sensor Spiral 100-300 Gallon Pot

Description This kit provides an easy, fast, and water-saving way to water a 50 to 75 gallon pot. No timers, batteries, or electricity required! Click here to download the instructions. This system utilizes a Blumat carrot (sensor) to automatically water and monitor the moisture levels in your garden soil. BluSoak tape allows for even water distribution throughout. When coupled together with Blumat carrots, BluSoak hose only delivers water to your veggies when they need it, which promotes exponential growth and impressive yields. You can also leave your BluSoak tape under your garden all winter, no problem. Water source needs to be 6-10' above the garden for a gravity system. For a pressure system running off a faucet or garden hose, simply add a Blumat Pressure Reducer. What You Might Need (Not included in kit): Connection to your water source (either thru-hull bulkhead fitting for gravity systems, a pressure reducer, or a Blumat pump for larger systems) 8mm Supply tube to connect your water source to your Blumats Additional Hold-Down stakes or 3mm tubing Fittings (tee's, elbows, couplers, etc.) How it works The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When your soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops water flow. Essentially, water will seep through your BluSoak hose only when your plants need it, thanks to Blumat technology. For a gravity-fed system, you'll need a reservoir. See 5-gallon Reservoirs below, sold with or without thru-hulls installed. Let us know if we can help you select the right products for your custom irrigation system! Need a reservoir? • Sale -10% Irrometer Kits

    Irrometer Kits

Description Get constant, at-a-glance readings of soil moisture with the original American-made tensiometer. Irrometers have been trusted by growers for decades to show how hard plant roots are working to access water. Analog and always ready, they provide clear insight into your soil without electronics or calibration. Use one at your target depth, or stack multiple to track moisture movement through the full root zone. Available Options Irrometers come in two versions: For Potting Soil (LT, 0–40 cbar) — available in 6″, 12″, and 18″ lengths. For Native Soil (SR, 0–100 cbar) — also available in 6″, 12″, and 18″ lengths. Note: Irrometer readings are in centibar (cbar). To compare with Digital Moisture Meter readings in millibar (mbar), just move the decimal (100 mbar = 10 cbar). Service Kit Options Choose the setup that fits your needs. Service kits improve setup and speed up readings by letting you pull a vacuum inside the Irrometer. This removes trapped air, helps check for leaks, and makes the instrument respond more quickly. Both kits also include Irrometer fluid/dye (for visibility) and instructions. Basic Service Kit — syringe, fluid/dye, instructions (simple way to pull a vacuum) Pump Service Kit — hand pump, fluid/dye, instructions (faster way to pull a vacuum and check for leaks) None — Irrometer only

  • Irrometer Standard (SR) Model, 12"-1

    Irrometer Standard (SR) Model, 12"

OPERATING PRINCIPLE: The IRROMETER operates on the tensiometer principle, which measures soil water tension. Soil water tension is the energy (vacuum) applied to soil by the plant as it draws in water for nutrition. This force is measured in centibars (cb) or kilopascals (kPa) of tension with a high reading indicating the dry end of the scale and a low reading indicating the wet end of the scale. The IRROMETER instrument consists of a sealed, fluid filled tube that is equipped with a porous ceramic tip and a special vacuum gauge. They are installed in the ground with the tips placed at desired root zone depths. As the soil dries (increasing tension), fluid is drawn out of the instrument. This reduces the fluid volume in the IRROMETER, thus creating a partial vacuum which is registered on the gauge. The drier the soil, the higher the gauge reading. An irrigation application or rainfall event reverses this action. As water flows back into the soil (and the IRROMETER), tension is relieved in the soil and the instrument, resulting in a lower gauge reading (lower tension). In effect, the instrument is indicating how hard the roots are working. Due to the IRROMETER’s unique principle of operation, no calibrations are necessary under normal operating conditions for different soil types. A gauge reading of 50 cb (kPa) indicates that the roots are extracting the same amount of moisture whether the crop is planted in sandy soil or clay soil.
