Much better than the wine bottle versions because Blumats are so much easier to refill: just cut the bottom off plastic bottle and fill with your regular watering can. (No reason to go back and forth from your sink so many times.) Better than the globe spikes because these disperse the water evenly, not just through a hole in the bottom. Just fit this adapter into almost any standard plastic bottle, fill the bottle with water and push into the soil near a plant. The porous cone will slowly start to distribute water throughout the day. The regular size does about 200 milliliters (0.43 pints) during a 24-hour period. Not as elegant as our Glass Globe version and doesn't give out as much water; but, this one costs less than half as much and can really help your plants. Depending on temperature, potting mix and plant type; it typically goes about 5 days before needing to be filled up again.  These water slowly and the slower you water, the deeper the water goes, the deeper the roots go, and  the more access plants have to moisture and nutrients. The stronger and more healthy they become and the more resistant to under-watering, over-watering, and to pests.
