Be-Here-Now Gardening Kit

As inexpensive as traditional drip with benefits:

  • Automatic watering based on soil moisture
  • No timer required
  • No electricity needed
  • Easy set up with minimal tools (only scissors)
  • Maintains the moisture level "sweet spot" – never too wet or too dry
  • Saves time while dramatically increasing harvests

Without timers, batteries, or electricity you can water your plants a more natural way by letting the roots decide. The Blumat sensor automatically opens and closes the water flow based on soil moisture.

When you use a  typical drip kit or hand water, you have to guess how much water the plants need. As the season progresses, the plants get bigger and the temperature gets warmer, and your guesses mismatch more and more. The plants cycle between drowning and drying out too much.

This kit responds in the here-and-now to what the plants need. You can do the same rather than worrying about the past mistakes or the future watering needs.

Trunk Line Kit

1/2" Poly Trunk Line Kit

$58.32
Product Description:

This Trunk Line Kit is the foundation of a flexible, expandable irrigation system—perfect for larger gardens or complex layouts with multiple zones. Available in either 50 feet or 100 feet of durable ½-inch poly tubing, this kit allows you to deliver water from your source—whether it’s a raised reservoir or pressurized pump system—to several key locations throughout your garden.

Each kit includes up to six ½-inch to 8mm reducing tees with shutoff valves, so you can create distinct irrigation zones exactly where you need them. From there, you’ll connect 8mm Bluemat Superflex tubing to complete your system using one of our 8mm Supply Kits (sold separately), which include the tubing and shutoffs needed to feed your individual beds or rows.

This kit keeps things simple and scalable:

  • Start with a central trunk line (main line)

  • Branch off to each zone head using reducing tees with shutoffs

  • Complete each zone using 8mm Superflex and Bluemat sensors

Whether you're irrigating beds, pots, or rows, this kit gives you a clean, organized way to manage multiple zones from a single water source.

Step 3 — Choose Your Pressure Reducer

Pressure reducers connect directly to your hose bib and deliver the correct water pressure for your irrigation system.

***Only Blumat-compatible pressure reducers should be used with this system. Standard reducers are often designed for timed irrigation and will not provide the stable pressure required for proper Blumat performance***

15 PSI Pressure Reducer — 8mm Output

Blumat Standard Pressure Reducer 1bar (15psi)

$59.00

A true pressure reducer — not a flow controller. Drops incoming water pressure down to 15 PSI (1 bar), the safe operating range for all Tropf Blumat sensors and BluSoak systems. Screws onto any standard 3/4" hose bib and outputs directly to 8mm Blumat supply tubing.

Key Features
  • True pressure reducer — actually lowers system pressure, not just flow rate
  • Fixed output of 15 PSI (1 bar) — the ideal operating pressure for Blumat systems
  • Maximum input pressure of 87 PSI
  • 3/4" female hose thread input — connects to any standard hose bib or faucet
  • 8mm barb output — connects directly to Blumat supply tubing, no tools needed
  • Made from ABS plastic, Austrian-engineered, designed for long-term reliability
Why a True Reducer Matters

Many products sold as pressure reducers are actually flow controllers — they restrict flow but don't lower actual system pressure. Reduced flow does not equal reduced pressure.

This is a genuine pressure reducer that brings any incoming supply down to a safe 15 PSI output regardless of flow. Running Blumat sensors above 15 PSI risks pushing tubing connections apart and flooding. This is the component that prevents that.

15 PSI Pressure Reducer — 3/4 Inch Output

Blumat Pressure Reducer 15 psi - 3/4" MHT output

$57.00
The standard Blumat pressure reducers work great for most systems. But for larger systems that need a higher flow rate, this becomes a better choice. This also works better when there's a long distance between the pressure reducer and your plants.

A TRUE REDUCER - Not just a flow controller that only works with high flows, these reduce pressure in Blumat systems with extremely low flow rates
EASY TO INSTALL - Uses standard 3/4"" hose thread for both input and ouput sides
HIGH QUALITY - Built to last from ABS plastic and designed for longest life

Blumat systems need constant low pressure — much less than municipal home and farm pressure. These reducers insure a constant pressure.

Often, people call flow restrictors "pressure reducers" and they can reduce pressure — but only if the system has a high flow. These true pressure reducers take input an pressure up to 87 psi and drop it down to 15 psi (1 bar) output. Ideally suited for Blumat and other drip irrigation systems, lowering the pressure also prevents tubing connections from coming apart and creating a flood.

In gravity systems, you don't need a reducer unless you have a storage tank high up a hill, 35' or more vertical. Horizontal distance doesn't make much difference."

Adjustable Pressure Reducer

Whole System Adjustable Pressure Reducer for Blumat systems

$140.40

Full control over your Blumat system pressure. Adjustable from 2–14 PSI with a built-in gauge so you always know exactly what your system is running — the most important number to know in any Blumat setup.

Key Features
  • Built-in 0–30 PSI pressure gauge for real-time monitoring
  • High flow rate of over 5 gallons per minute — can replace six or more standard Blumat pressure reducers
  • Adjustable from 2–14 PSI to match any distribution method (drippers, drip rings, BluSoak)
  • Powerful enough for the largest systems, precise enough for single-zone setups
Connections & Adapters

The reducer body has a ½" male pipe thread (MPT) inlet and a ¾" female pipe thread (FPT) outlet. Included adapters make it easy to install:

  • Input — ¾" PVC swivel adapter for standard garden hoses or hose bibs
  • Output — ¾" to ½" Perma-Loc fitting for Trunk Line Kits
  • Output — ¾" to 8mm adapter for Supply Line Kits with SuperFlex tubing
  • Also includes — ¾" FPT tee and 1/4" to ¾" MBT bushing
Installation Instructions
  1. Tape all male fittings with the provided tape, wrapping 5–6 times clockwise.
  2. Assemble parts as pictured in the instruction diagram.
  3. Connect to a valve on a pump kit or to a hose bib using the provided ¾" swivel adapter.
  4. Using the provided fittings, connect to your Blumat system supply line.
  5. Open the incoming water to check current system pressure. Recommended ranges:
    • Drip rings — 12–15 PSI
    • BluSoak — 7–10 PSI
  6. To adjust pressure: turn off incoming water, release system pressure by opening a valve on the Blumat supply line until the gauge reads 0, then turn the black adjustment collar (tighten for more pressure, loosen for less).
  7. Close the Blumat supply line valve and open incoming water to re-pressurize. Check the gauge. If not in range, repeat steps 6–7 until correct.

Monitor soil moisture and better understand how water moves through your garden

Digital Moisture Meter

Blumat Digital Moisture Meter Kits

$89.00

Instant, accurate soil moisture readings purpose-built for potting mix and living soil. No calibration, no guesswork — just reliable data so you know exactly when to water and when to hold off.

Available Options
  • Meter Only — Base unit for reliable soil moisture readings.
  • Meter + Protective Cap — Adds UV and moisture protection for outdoor use.
  • Meter + Protective Cap + Battery — Includes a spare CR2032 3-volt battery.
  • Complete Kit (Meter + Cap + Battery + Coring Tool) — Full field kit with the Blumat Coring Tool (1" wide, 11"+ long) for precise sensor installation with minimal soil disturbance.
How It Works

Insert the probe into your potting mix and get an instant reading in millibar (mbar). The lower the number, the wetter the soil. Use it to dial in your Blumat sensors, check moisture before watering, or track drybacks between feeds.

Purpose-built for container growing — not field soil. Gives consistent, repeatable readings that cheap probes and finger tests can't match.

Important Notes
  • The top of the meter is not waterproof — do not submerge or expose to standing water.
  • The protective cap should not be seated directly into soil — trapped humidity can damage the sensor.
  • Reset instructions available here.
