9" Maxi Sensors
Blumat Tropf 9" Maxi Sensors - 10 Pack
Description The Tropf-Blumat Maxi acts as a regulator and dripper, just like the standard 5” Tropf-Blumat. This one is 9 inches long though. You put it in the ground 6 - 7.5 inches so it senses the moisture at a deeper level. This is important when your plants get bigger because the regular Blumat sensor might turn the water off too soon. This one might turn it off too soon if your plant still has surface roots. Some growers use both - especially if they are growing in coco or a hydroponic system. The Tropf-Blumat (Drip-Blumat) is a sensor that supplies plants with drips of water via thin tubing. As the soil dries, its natural suction power triggers the opening of the Tropf Blumat allowing the water to flow. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the Tropf Blumat automatically stops. The system functions fully automatically. Every plant, every container or group of plants requires at least 1 Tropf-Blumat adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. Larger containers or surfaces require longer or more than one sensor. All Tropf-Blumats are connected using one supply tube, this allows for flexibility in the layout and is changeable at any time. Automatically waters individual plants and only when needed. There are a few options for a water source; you can either connect the system directly to your hose tap or rain barrel (with fittings not supplied with this product). Pre-set Blumat 9"
Description A game-changing innovation: pre-set 5" and 9" Blumats These two new products eliminate almost all the problems people have setting up and maintaining Tropf Blumats, save a huge amount of time, and also make it easy to adjust your entire system all at once! Most of the time people spend setting up a Blumat system involves adjusting the sensors - both initially and when you need to make a change. We can do that for you now so all you'll have to do is plug them in. To make small adjustments later to provide more or less water, you can make a 10-second adjustment on an adjustable pressure reducer (if you have one) and change the flow rates for all at once. Both 5" and 9" sensors arrive pre-calibrated with two markings on the brown adjustment dial - one for gravity and one for pressure systems. This new innovation makes Blumats practical for large commercial systems with thousands of plants as well as preventing the most common problems people have while dramatically decreasing setup time for small systems. Pre-calibrated for most soil/media types like living soil, standard potting mixes, coco, and peat; they take most of the work and worry out of the installation! Set just where you want them to be right out of the box. We normally recommend the 9" Maxis in these systems but also make the 5" size for pots smaller than 5 gallons. These all include an installed protective cap to prevent the setting from being accidentally changed. They come with two markings on the brown adjustment dial. Use the red mark for gravity systems and the blue one if you have pressure.

Note: Blumat Classics (Juniors) and bottle adapters are designed for houseplants while Tropf-Blumat Sensors (the one's with the small adjustable brown knob on top) are designed for greenhouses, growrooms, decks, and outside gardens. Blumats Austria says "Please don't use the Tropf-Blumats indoors" because if hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest, or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage an indoor floor, drywall, carpet, or furniture. We, and many others, do in fact use these systems inside ourselves, however, we are generally around enough that if a problem did occur, we would be able to notice a problem and fix it in time (not the case if someone is on vacation). We have many guides for being able to set these up the proper way and avoid a run-away or general mistakes. Please contact us for any help, we are always here to help make your life easier.
