For more information regarding Capillary Mats, click here. At first glance, these may seem expensive. If you're using them as intended though - in trays with capillary mats, they're totally worth it. This is a growing system popular in Europe that's only slowly making its way into the USA. These fit on top of a capillary mat with perforated black foil on top of that to prevent algae and other things from growing. The surface blumat turns water on and off that spreads moisture through the felt and soaks up from the bottom. It works great with fabric pots and plastic ones with a flat bottom and extra holes drilled in, but not plastic pots with a big lip - the mat needs to be touching the bottom of the pot. Good for pots up to 2 gallon and larger for plants with deep but not surface roots. In a 5 gallon pot, the moisture will only go up about half way, so with that size it's better to use a regular Blumat sensor. One of these plus distribution drippers will supply enough water for 5 square meters of tray. The electronic version can supply enough for thousands of plants as long as the surface is flat (use a level to make sure). Capillary Mat NOT INCLUDED

It can directly connect to your reservoir or rain barrel or, with a pressure reducer, to a conventional watering system's hose or faucet. This kit includes six, 9" carrots (Maxis) and all parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Reducer attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). If your reservoir does not have a thru-hull installed, you will have to drill a hole into your reservoir bucket and install a thru-hull piece. For our customers' convenience, we also sell 5-gallon reservoirs with thru-hulls already installed. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Deck and Planter Set covers an area 12 inches in diameter. Easily convert a used plastic bottle to a Blumat supply source. This works really well for hanging plants - both inside and outside. Just attach the plastic bottle to the hanger and put the Blumat in the soil. You can cut the bottom off the plastic bottle (you can use these cut off bottoms to make plant holders that keep wooden shelves from getting rings) and fill them from the top. If you prefer to keep the bottle intact, the water will last longer and you don't have to worry about insects getting in it but it's harder to fill. If you use the auto-stop version of this bottle cap though (IG15525), you can more easily move the bottle to fill and put back without spilling the water all over. This uses the thread type common on most one liter plastic bottles - not the same as 3/4" hose thread.

Description Super flexible and almost impossible to kink(For standard irrigation systems, for Blumat systems refer to 8mm Superflex)This tubing is more expensive than typical 1/4", but is extremely easy to use. We like to put it after a valve at the end of a loop or line and use it as a handy water source. Being so flexible, it's easy to fill a little container, give a plant a little extra water, etc.It's extruded from a specially formulated silicone with a hardness rating of 60 Shore A and heat stabilized to ensure re-use and can handle temperatures up to 500°F (260C). It's non-staining, reuseable, and we can cut this to the length you need.We also have this in 100' rolls.

A relatively inexpensive but still high quality and easy-to-use filter. Because of the clear base, you can quickly see if it's getting dirty and you can clean it out without having to unhook your lines. Includes adapters going to 8 mm Blumat line so to install, just cut the line and push the tubing on to the adapters! If your water isn't clean or you'd like to use thick nutrients in a reservoir, this filter will keep your Blumats safe. The screen has just the right mesh - not too big that could let clogging particles through or too small that would mean unnecessary cleaning. Clear bases make it easier to tell if they need to be cleaned but best only in dark rooms. White bases better to prevent algae build-up. For the same price, we can also ship this with fittings for 1/2" drip, 3/8" drip, 1/2" & 3/4" slip PVC. Description Quick disconnect -connect for Blumat 8mm tubing. an easy and inexpensive way to be able to connect/disconnect your main 8mm supply tubing with just one quick rotation. Buy an off/off valve to be able to turn off/on incoming water supply, valve sold separately (IG15936). Also a plug is now available so you have a cheap way to plug up the fittings as well.  This makes it easy to bring the cone "carrots" in during the winter.
