How much mat do you need?
The mat is 4 feet wide. One linear foot covers 4 square feet before trimming. For example, covering a 4-foot by 8-foot area requires 8 linear feet of mat. Contact us before ordering if you need a particular cut arrangement.
How to build your capillary-mat setup
Place plastic sheeting underneath the mat and a top cover or perforated foil above it. Cut the layers to fit your growing area. The mat can also be used in trays under houseplant pots or in seed-starting trays to help keep moisture more even.
You can supply water manually, use a Surface Blumat, or place a preset Blumat in one of the pots on the mat.

Yes. The mat can be cut to size and will not fray at the cut edges.

No. You can supply water manually. A Surface Blumat or a preset Blumat in one of the pots provides another way to supply water to the mat.
