  • Grassroots Living Soil Pots

    Grassroots Living Soil Pots

    3 reviews

Description These are the highest quality grade fabric pots in the market. Fabric pots keep your soil cooler than clay or plastic because of the breathability of the fabric. These pots will keep your roots cooler where traditional pots can't. Grassroot Fabric Pots contain MoistureLock Technology. A strip of BPA-free waterproof fabric is sewn to the inside of the container, which helps plant health because of great drainage. A triple hem on top for added strength These pots allow water to move downward, which helps to avoid dry pockets in the soil. Regular fabric pots dry from the sides, MoistureLock prevents that, simulating the way soil dries in nature. The bottom seam is sewn on the outside with marine-bonded thread to prevent rot. There is less surface area for water to escape the container, which means less water usage (lower labor) and lower humidity indoors. Because of the fabric of these pots, aeration and air pruning comes from the strip of breathable fabric towards the bottom of the container. Dimensions: 12"d x 9.5"h

Blumat 12 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit - Gravity Deluxe with 5 Gallon Reservoir

    1 review

Description Our medium kits are designed to water areas up to 3.5 square meters, or 12 potted plants. This kit is nearly identical to our deluxe medium kit, however, it comes with a 5-gallon gravity tank with thru-hulls already installed and includes the water level indicator. i.e. This kit includes everything you need to create your very own electricity-free, gravity-fed system. Blumat systems can adjust to any plant type or desired moisture level. This specific kit comes with 5" carrots, which are better for smaller potted plants (10 gallons at most). If you have large plants (10+ gallon pots), we recommend using 9" carrots, or Maxis, to get water deep into the soil. Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients - and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Perfect for landscapers and home gardeners. It is easily installed with a pair of scissors and connects directly to your reservoir. This kit includes twelve, 5” carrots and all the parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Reducer attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). The Tropf Blumat system is great for watering balcony boxes, planters, hanging baskets, and row crops. It fulfills the needs of the plants on an individual basis, regardless of their location, light levels, or plant type. Our systems save your plants from excessive and improper watering. Tropf Blumat system are ideal for plant groupings that require consistent moisture, such as vegetable gardens, bushes, flower beds, grow bags and greenhouse containers. Not only do your plants receive the right amount of water, slow and consistent dripping ensures that your plants receive warmed water, avoiding shock. This Deck and Planter Kit is a great way to start your customized irrigation system. The flexible system can be expanded to include up to 500 drippers. See 'Blumat Accessories' to expand our systems to your specific needs. How it works The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Deck and Planter Set covers an area 12 inches in diameter. To expand and customize your own system, add additional Supply Hoses, Outdoor Sensors, and Distributor Drippers. PLEASE NOTE: This Tropf Blumat systems do not include a Pressure Reducer. You will need this if you are connecting your system to a threaded spigot, such as your hose/home water supply or the spigot on a rain barrel or reservoir. The Pressure Reducer is in 'Related Products' below. Let us know if we can help you select the right products for your custom irrigation system! Note: Blumat Classics (Juniors) and bottle adapters are designed for houseplants while Tropf-Blumat Sensors (the one's with the small adjustable brown knob on top) are designed for greenhouses, growrooms, decks, and outside gardens. Blumats Austria says "Please don't use the Tropf-Blumats indoors" because if hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest, or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage an indoor floor, drywall, carpet, or furniture. We, and many others, do in fact use these systems inside ourselves, however, we are generally around enough that if a problem did occur, we would be able to notice a problem and fix it in time (not the case if someone is on vacation). We have many guides for being able to set these up the proper way and avoid a run-away or general mistakes. Please contact us for any help, we are always here to help make your life easier. • Preset Blumat 9"

    Preset Blumat 9"

    3 reviews

A game-changing innovation: Pre-Calibrated Tropf Blumat Stake These two new products eliminate almost all the problems people have setting up and maintaining Tropf Blumats, save a huge amount of time, and also make it easy to adjust your entire system all at once! Most of the time people spend setting up a Blumat system involves adjusting the sensors - both initially and when you need to make a change. We can do that for you now so all you'll have to do is plug them in. To make small adjustments later to provide more or less water, you can make a 10-second adjustment on an adjustable pressure reducer (if you have one) and change the flow rates for all at once. Both 5" and 9" sensors arrive pre-calibrated with two markings on the brown adjustment dial - one for gravity and one for pressure systems. This new innovation makes Blumats practical for large commercial systems with thousands of plants as well as preventing the most common problems people have while dramatically decreasing setup time for small systems. Pre-calibrated for most soil/media types like living soil, standard potting mixes, coco, and peat; they take most of the work and worry out of the installation! Set just where you want them to be right out of the box. We normally recommend the 9" Maxis in these systems but also make the 5" size for pots smaller than 5 gallons. These all include an installed protective cap to prevent the setting from being accidentally changed. They come with two markings on the brown adjustment dial. Use the red mark for gravity systems and the blue one if you have pressure.

  • Whole System Blumat Adjustable Pressure Reducer

Whole System Blumat Adjustable Pressure Reducer

    2 reviews

Accurate and adjustable, this pressure reducer lets you adjust the input pressure of a Blumat system from between 1 and 14 psi - you can uniformly modify moisture levels of your entire garden with the turn of a single dial. Lower the pressure for dryer soil, raise it to keep it more moist. Because you can adjust all the Blumat sensors in your system from a single point, the more plants you have, the more time you save. And  its high 5 GPM flow capacity means more consistency and even output. 0-30 psi gauge, 3/4" FPT swivel input, output options 1/2" FPT, 8 mm barb, or 1/2" Perma-loc.

  • Blumat Digital Soil Moisture Meter

    Blumat Digital Soil Moisture Meter

    44 reviews

    Going fast!

Description Description This professional moisture meter will show you how dry or wet the soil is at the push of a button. The digital moisture meter can be an ideal tool to help when dialing in your Blumat or other garden irrigation system. Keeping your soil at the ideal moisture level keeps microbes and other microorganism populations happy. *DO NOT GET ELECTRIC/DIGITAL PART OF METER WET. USE PROTECTIVE CAP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING THESE OUTSIDE, HAND-WATERING, OR FREQUENTLY APPLY FOLIAR SPRAYS. How it Works The ceramic extension is soaked in and filled with water, just like a Blumat sensor. When this is inserted into the growing medium, the medium exerts a pressure on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more dry, it pulls harder on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more moist, the force pulling inside the cone is less. These forces of pressure correlate to different readings on the meter. A reading of 0 indicates standard water, while a high reading of 750 or so indicates sawdust completely void of moisture. The digital moisture meter is a tensiometer, but indicates moisture levels using pressure as a correlative. Reset Your Meter! When you first get your Digital Moisture Meter, it is best practice to reset it. It's also advisable to reset it periodically with continuous use. Click here for instructions. One sevice kit can service multiple irrometers: IG17954 Additional Info Additional Info Wait until after watering media to let the moisture evenly disperse and stabilize before trusting readings from the meter. Aim for 100mbar on average in living soil. Some gardeners report best results at 40mbar–I personally get overwatering symptoms there. Let mbar readings on your meter be a guide to plant health, not a tyranny that rules your mental peace. The meter cannot be used in extremely airy or chunky media such as chunky perlite, lava rock, etc. When the ceramic is in contact with air, the pressure readings will be extremely high. However, your plant roots may have access to moisture in these media even when the meter is displaying high readings. Avoid getting the digital display wet. The protective cap is highly encouraged in all circumstances, and is completely necessary for outdoor growers as well as those who supplement with any over-the-top watering. Do not drop or otherwise rattle the display. Keep the digital display in dry storage when it’s not in use. Guide to Blumat Digital Moisture Meter | Irrigation Equipment
