As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Deck and Planter Set covers an area 12 inches in diameter. To expand and customize your own system, add additional Supply Hoses, Outdoor Sensors, and Distributor Drippers. PLEASE NOTE: This system does not include a water source. Description To attach 8 mm Blumat water supply line to a rain barrel or water storage tank. This is your classic bulkhead fitting, made in Austria, high quality and efficient for a Blumat System. Bulkhead fittings allow you to penetrate through a wall or barrier, while allowing passage within the fitting. This allow you to tap into a tank of water, while allowing water to pass-through the bulkhead fitting, and into a water supply line. Description If you're growing outside in a windy area or for any reason want to make sure your drippers don't move, these stakes will help. And good for making the tubing stay where you want it when you're making big curves - they fit both the distribution drippers and the 8 mm tubing. AUSTRIAN-MADE - Leave it to the Austrians to design and engineer such a foolproof device! These shut-off (or on/off) valves from Blumat brand are the quarter-turn valves you've been looking for! These valves are ideal for blumat watering systems. They can be installed in-line in any 8mm tubing, but we recommend super-flex. Simply remove the collar, and place the collar over the 8mm tubing. Then slide the tubing over the 8mm barb, screw on the threaded collar, and you are in a perfect position to irrigate your plants! These can be used to turn on/off water supply to your entire garden, or just branches of your garden (or even individual plants, plant rows, etc.--your imagination is the limit!). PLOT TWIST: These blumat fittings can also be used as purge valves. A purge valve is used to remove air, particulate matter, or other debris from a water supply line. This can be accomplished in two different ways. One is simply by concluding an 8mm tubing or line with one of these valves. The valve will remain closed 99% of the time, but should be opened if air/debris is suspected in the tubing. The air and/or debris will flow out of the tubing when the valve is opened. The second way to install a purge valve in a blumat watering system is by cutting in the middle of a "loop" design, installing a 3-way 8mm Tee fitting, and installing one of these valves on the open-end of the tee. Simply open the valve to "purge" or clear your lines.

Description These are great for watering long plant beds, planter boxes, and giving large plants an even amount of water in a circle around them. They connect to a Tropf-Blumat or a Maxi.This is less expensive than adding more sensors but you may need to add a filter to your system if you use nutrients in your water so they don't clog. This pack contains 10 distributors and 2 meters of (6.5 feet) of 3mm drip tubing. Two barbs let you connect tubing on both sides of the dripper for up to five drip locations from one Tropf-Blumat (dripper chain). The end-distributor dripper has a drip nozzle on one side only for use as the end piece in a dripper chain. You can go as far as 100 cm (39") from the sensor with these and they water about 20 cm wide (8"). Minimum pressure to use them like this is 4.5 psi. You can go down as low as 2 psi but the last dripper or two might not put out much water. By adjusting the black screw on the top, you can use more. In pressure systems, customers report successfully using as many as 25 with just one Blumat sensor.
