Although the history of drip irrigation goes back to the Babylonians, modern drip systems represent one of the most important agricultural innovations of all time. They can save over 60% of the water used with flood irrigation, increase yields from 20 to 40%, cut labor costs down to almost zero, decrease the expense of big pumps and high electricity bills, decrease fertilizer costs, and maintain a more constant moisture level that increases microbe and soil health. Because they provide water more slowly, the moisture goes deeper, the roots follow giving them access to more nutrients and making the plants stronger and more healthy.
DescriptionPressure gauges that read in a very low range like this one require a different kind of technology which costs more. Being more rare and not produced in large number like the 0-30 and 0-100 also adds to this cost. But quality and accuracy stay high and they provide invaluable information for low pressure applications like our BluSoak and GrowStream system where going from 2 to 3psi can radically change the flow rate. They also take the guesswork out of setting up and dialing in systems. You can put them at the end of a long line of tape/soaker hose and use them to adjust for the best psi to give you the best amount of water flow rate.

GrowStream™ Subsurface Irrigation Tape is a plant-responsive subsurface irrigation system that dynamically delivers water and nutrients based upon individual plant demand. This tube is a microporous material that retains water until flow is triggered by plant root exudates. The tubing has no emitters, but releases water along its entire surface through millions of micropores.
The tubing diameter is 0.625 in. (5/8 in.) (16 millimeters) I.D.

These easy to use Take-Apart drippers have a small locking cap that can be removed for cleaning the inside of the emitter. Where the flag end is, indicates where the actual drip emitter is (where water exits the system). While the barb on the other side is the inlet, where you use the hole puncher to plug into your supply line.
