Small systems work great on gravity; but, when you expand, you may need a pressuring pump system. These also help if you lose your pressure when mixing nutrients and additives in a reservoir. The pump pressurizes a pressure tank and turns off. The tank then silently supplies the water with the pump not running. These also can work to transfer water from a distant tank to one closer or to automatically fill a small reservoir with a float valve.

Because of the clear base, you can quickly see if it's getting dirty and you can clean it out without having to unhook your lines. Blumat GmbH & Co. KG Blumat Bulkhead Filter
This new Blumat input filter fits on the Blumat Bulkhead Through-Hull Tank Connector, inside the reservoir and keeps sediment and leaves from getting into your supply line. It doesn’t fit on the older tank connectors we had before August 2023 though. The new ones (on the right in the picture below) have two tabs on the sides and a 6-sided jut on the input side, where the old ones have two parallel lines. An inexpensive "insurance policy," this could save you quite a bit of headache if your water doesn't always stay clean.
