Take the guesswork out of watering with our Aquamat Capillary Mat kits—designed for consistent, bottom-up hydration that accelerates vegetative growth and increases soil aeration. Each kit is fully customizable to fit your setup. Choose your mat size (2x4, 4x4, or 4x8), select an irrigation control method, and pick the ideal container for your plants.
Irrigation Control Options:
Preset 5-inch BluMat Sensor: Placed into a “pilot” container filled with soil, this sensor regulates water flow into the mat based on soil moisture levels. Best suited for pots 4 inches or larger.
Surface-Mounted BluMat: A bell-shaped ceramic base that attaches to a BluMat sensor and sits directly on the mat. This allows you to fine-tune moisture levels for uniform watering across the mat’s surface. Ideal for cell trays or small containers where inserting a sensor isn’t practical.
No Sensor: For manual watering or use with existing irrigation systems.
Container Options:
Grassroots One-Gallon Bottomless Sleeves: These fabric sleeves maximize aeration while allowing roots to interact directly with the mat. When the plant is ready for transplant, simply place it on top of its new container and let the roots explore out through the open bottom. (Quantities= 10 per 2'x4', 20 per 4'x4', 40 per 4'x4')
1 Gallon Non-Woven Nursery Pots: Made from a biodegradable, and tear-resistant fabric, these bags promote efficient moisture management and airflow. Their permeable surface not only ensures optimal hydration but also allows for quick and easy transplanting into larger containers without the need to remove the bag. The plant's roots will explore right out as if the bag wasn’t even there. (All sizes of Aquamats come with a 50 count)
Please note: These Aquamat kits do not include the complete irrigation setup—you’ll need to add a pressure reducer, bulkhead fittings, or a BluMat pump with supply line and fittings to complete your system.
