    Description

Bottom-up watering for your 3′ × 3′ growing area. AquaMat distributes water beneath compatible pots and trays, while a Blumat sensor controls when water enters the mat. Built for propagation, nursery plants, and vegetative growth.

Choose your Blumat sensor below. Containers, the main supply line, and water source are sold separately.

    How AquaMat works

Water spreads across the capillary mat. Growing media in containers that contact the mat draws moisture upward through the container bottoms. The selected Blumat sensor opens and closes water delivery as moisture conditions change.

The sensor works mechanically, without a timer or electricity. A pump-powered water source requires power.

    Choose your Blumat sensor

Preset 5-inch Blumat: Install it in a planted container or a dedicated, unplanted container of growing media. That container becomes the control point for the mat. Preset reference marks simplify initial adjustment.

Surface Blumat: Measures moisture directly at the mat. It can remain installed as pots and trays move on and off, making it convenient for changing propagation layouts. Calibrate it after placement.

Both choices regulate water delivery to the whole mat. Choose based on where you want to measure moisture and how often you change containers.

    What’s included
    • AquaMat capillary mat for a 3′ × 3′ area
    • Your selected Preset 5-inch Blumat or Surface Blumat control
    • Associated mat irrigation components and fittings

This is the distribution portion of your watering system. Growing containers, the main supply line, and the water source are selected separately.

    Complete your setup

Already using a compatible Blumat water source and supply line? Check their capacity before connecting another mat.

    Setup and container contact
    • Place the mat on a clean, flat, level surface.
    • Keep container bottoms in direct contact with the capillary surface.
    • Use growing media that can absorb water from below; avoid air gaps beneath pots.
    • Top-water as needed to establish moisture contact before relying on the mat.
    • Do not rely on bottom watering to quickly restore completely dry or hydrophobic media.
    Common questions

Can I use an unplanted control pot?
Yes. A dedicated container of growing media can hold the Preset 5-inch Blumat and act as the mat’s control point.

Can I move trays and pots?
Yes. The Surface Blumat can stay at the mat as containers change. With the preset sensor, keep a dedicated control container in place or reinstall the sensor as needed.

What if some pots stay dry?
Check level placement, container contact, growing-media absorbency, and the water supply before changing the sensor adjustment.
