Accurate moisture monitoring is one of the most important factors in making good irrigation decisions—and it plays a huge role in overall plant health, soil biology, and resource efficiency. We like to use tensiometers, a tool that directly measure the tension in the soil: how much pressure a plant’s roots must exert to draw in water.
Tensiometers display this tension on a gauge using a standardized unit—centibar (cb) or millibar (mbar)—both part of the same pressure scale (just a decimal place apart). This makes it easy to compare readings across different setups and depths.
On this page, you’ll find a variety of tensiometer lengths for measuring moisture at different soil depths, along with accessories for installation, maintenance, and system optimization.
