These valves are ideal for blumat watering systems. They can be installed in-line in any 8mm tubing, but we recommend super-flex. Simply remove the collar, and place the collar over the 8mm tubing. Then slide the tubing over the 8mm barb, screw on the threaded collar, and you are in a perfect position to irrigate your plants! These can be used to turn on/off water supply to your entire garden, or just branches of your garden (or even individual plants, plant rows, etc.--your imagination is the limit!). PLOT TWIST: These blumat fittings can also be used as purge valves. A purge valve is used to remove air, particulate matter, or other debris from a water supply line. This can be accomplished in two different ways. One is simply by concluding an 8mm tubing or line with one of these valves. The valve will remain closed 99% of the time, but should be opened if air/debris is suspected in the tubing. The air and/or debris will flow out of the tubing when the valve is opened. The second way to install a purge valve in a blumat watering system is by cutting in the middle of a "loop" design, installing a 3-way 8mm Tee fitting, and installing one of these valves on the open-end of the tee. Simply open the valve to "purge" or clear your lines.

Blumat 8mm Bulkhead

Just screw half on the inside of the tank, the other on the outside. The nipple connects to the standard 8mm Blumat water supply/feed line. You can either start with one of these bulkheads, or a Blumat Pressure Reducer, either of these fittings will "start" your Blumat watering system. Use 1/2" drill bit to puncture hole. These bulkheads will work flawlessly with your Blumat. They are easy to install, durable, perfectly fitted for other Blumat equipment, and can instantly turn any container of your choice into a perfect Blumat reservoir. These can also be used with drip irrigation lines and many other kinds of irrigation equipment. As long as you have 8mm tubing to attach to the nipple this bulkhead will do the trick. We use these on rain barrels, 5-gallon buckets, plastic totes, 55-gallon drums, and every other water vessel/container that you could imagine! After installing one or two, you'll be ready to run your Blumat system. To attach 8mm Blumat water supply line to a rain barrel or water storage tank. This is your classic bulkhead fitting, made in Austria, high quality and efficient for a Blumat system. Bulkhead fittings allow you to penetrate through a wall or barrier, while allowing passage within the fitting. This allow you to tap into a tank of water, while allowing water to pass-through the bulkhead fitting, and into a water supply line. Indoor Blumat Classic Kit
Our indoor kit features six Blumat stakes. These Blumats ensure a constant supply of water to your indoor plants. They automatically supply just the right amount -never too much or too little. Your plants won't experience any drying out that stunts growth or over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps plants from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, a ceramic cone gradually delivers water into the surrounding dirt, which creates a vacuum within the cone that draws water from a nearby container of water. And once the soil reaches a desired moisture level, the Blumat will stop pulling in water. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply — slow, continual feeding encourages prolific plant growth.
