Blumat Drip Irrigation

Blumat Drip Irrigation

Please see the Blumat Information page for detailed information on Blumats. In a nutshell, The Tropf (tropf is Austrian for drip) Blumat has become the ideal watering method for growing in greenhouses, for indoor gardening, on decks and in planter boxes, as well as for certain kinds of outdoor plants. It's the evolution of drip irrigation.

  • Blumat Distributor Drippers (Ten) + 2m of Drip Tube

Blumat Distributor Drippers (Ten) + 2m of Drip Tube

    1 review

Description These are great for watering long plant beds, planter boxes, and giving large plants an even amount of water in a circle around them. They connect to a Tropf-Blumat or a Maxi. This is less expensive than adding more sensors but you may need to add a filter to your system if you use nutrients in your water so they don't clog. This pack contains 10 distributors and 2 meters of (6.5 feet) of 3mm drip tubing. Two barbs let you connect tubing on both sides of the dripper for up to five drip locations from one Tropf-Blumat (dripper chain). The end-distributor dripper has a drip nozzle on one side only for use as the end piece in a dripper chain. You can go as far as 100 cm (39") from the sensor with these and they water about 20 cm wide (8"). Minimum pressure to use them like this is 4.5 psi. You can go down as low as 2 psi but the last dripper or two might not put out much water. By adjusting the black screw on the top, you can use more. In pressure systems, customers report successfully using as many as 25 with just one Blumat sensor. Components Set Includes: 10 Distribution Drippers (8 Regular + 2 End Drippers) (IG15557,IG15558) 2 Meters (6.5 ft) 3mm Drip Tube (IG16021V)

  • Blumat Standard Pressure Reducer 1bar (15psi)

Blumat Standard Pressure Reducer 1bar (15psi)

    21 reviews

TRUE REDUCER - Not a mere flow controller, this brings water pressure down to 15 PSi (1 bar)! EASY TO INSTALL - Screws onto standard hose thread (3/4" input), and ouputs to 8mm tubing! ENDURING - Made from ABS plastic and designed with few points of failure, this is built to last! BLUMAT-READY - Designed specifically for blumat watering systems and 8mm tubing, no tools necessary! AUSTRIAN-ENGINEERED - This high-quality component is designed and manufactured by clever Austrians! Blumat systems need low pressure, much less than comes from normal house water connections. The blumat Pressure Reducer allows for easy integration of a municipal (or otherwise pressurized line, such as from a well) water line into a blumat, blusoak, or easysoak watering system. BEWARE IMPOSTERS! Many pressure reducers are not real pressure reducers at all, but are merely flow controllers, and reduce flow rates. However, reduced flow rates DO NOT necessarily correlate to reduced pressures. This is a true pressure reducer, and will reduce any incoming water (with a maximum pressure input of 87PSi) down to a 15PSi (1 bar) output. This is ideally suited and low enough for blumat systems and their components. Higher pressure will push tubing connections apart, and increase likelihood of flooding. This pressure reducer is extremely easy to use. The input side screws onto a standard 3/4" hose bibb or hose threading, often found on taps outside the home, or even faucets inside the home. The output side (featured with collar) is ideally suited for 8mm tubing (I suggest using our super-flex tubing). This is the size that integrates directly with tropf blumats. This adaptation makes setting up a blumat system from a hose or pressurized line an absolute breeze, and you can install your blumats in seconds. Blumat systems need low pressure, much less than comes from normal house water connections. Some of our kits include one of these but if you'd like to install the other ones or the separate components to a home water system, you'll need one of these Pressure Reducers. In gravity systems you'll also need one if your storage tank is high uphill. In Grow Rooms and Greenhouses with a reservoir for mixing nutrients, you can connect a small pressure pump to this and automatically feed your plants when you water. On one side it adapts to a 3/4" male hose thread and on the other directly to the Blumat 8 mm supply tube. Maximum input pressure is 87 psi.

  • Blumat 12 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit - Gravity

Blumat 12 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit - Gravity

    3 reviews

Our medium kits are designed to water areas up to 3.5 square meters, or 12 potted plants. Blumat systems can adjust to any plant type or desired moisture level. This specific kit comes with 5" carrots, which are better for smaller potted plants (10 gallons at most). If you have large plants (10+ gallon pots), we recommend using 9" carrots, or Maxis, to get water deep into the soil. Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients - and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Perfect for landscapers and home gardeners. It is easily installed with a pair of scissors and connects directly to your hose, tap or rain barrel with the help of the Pressure Reducer. This kit includes twelve, 5" carrots and all the parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Reducer attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). If your reservoir does not have a thru-hull installed, you will have to drill a hole into your reservoir bucket and install a thru-hull piece. For our customers' convenience, we also sell 5-gallon reservoirs with thru-hulls already installed. The Tropf Blumat system is great for watering balcony boxes, planters, hanging baskets, and row crops. It fulfills the needs of the plants on an individual basis, regardless of their location, light levels, or plant type. Our systems save your plants from excessive and improper watering. Tropf Blumat system are ideal for plant groupings that require consistent moisture, such as vegetable gardens, bushes, flower beds, grow bags and greenhouse containers. Not only do your plants receive the right amount of water, slow and consistent dripping ensures that your plants receive warmed water, avoiding shock. This Deck and Planter Kit is a great way to start your customized irrigation system. The flexible system can be expanded to include up to 500 drippers. See 'Blumat Accessories' to expand our systems to your specific needs. PLEASE NOTE: Tropf Blumat systems do not include a Pressure Reducer or a water source. You will need a pressure reducer if you are connecting your system to a threaded spigot, such as your hose/home water supply or the spigot on a rain barrel or reservoir. Let us know if we can help you select the right products for your custom irrigation system! Note: This system is not designed for indoor use. Blumat Classics and bottle adapters are designed for houseplants while Tropf-Blumat Sensors (the ones with the small adjustable brown knob on top) are designed for greenhouses, grow rooms, decks, and outside gardens. If hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest, or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage an indoor floor, drywall, carpet, or furniture. Components This Kit Includes: 12 Blumat carrots (5")  7 meters (23 feet) of 8mm tubing 1 tee splitter 1 elbow splitter 1 hose coupler 1 hose end-piece 1 rain barrel/gravity tank connector and installation instructions

  • BluSoak 2.0 Drip Tape

Responsive Drip Irrigation (RDI) BluSoak 2.0 Drip Tape

    5 reviews

Description The BluSoak 2.0 when placed on the surface of soil or another growing medium ensures effective irrigation. This tape can be connected to Tropf Blumats and requires no electricity, batteries, timers or controllers. Without electricity, batteries, timers or controllers; BluSoak 2.0 connected to a Tropf Blumat will assure automatic, even irrigation while minimizing water and nutrient use. It saves time, water, labor, and nutrients while increasing yields and plant health. How it works: In order to compromise between extreme performance and high cost, the BluSoak drip tape was introduced as a component to extend the watering ability and distribution of each Tropf Blumat sensor. BluSoak drip tape finds a balance between the highest level of performance and the lowest costs possible. Water leaks out at an extremely slow rate which can almost completely stop water loss from evaporation if under a good mulch. Because the water goes so slowly, it goes deeper instead of horizontally away from the roots. And because it goes deeper, the roots go deeper giving the plants access to nutrients usually below their reach. It makes the plants stronger, more drought tolerant, and increases yields. Due to its porous material the drip tape emits water at an extremely slow pace along its entire surface through billions of micropores. By placing the tubing on the ground alongside the plants, the drip tape slowly emits water into the soil that gradually is absorbed onto the root zone. Because moisture levels are kept at an optimal range, plant productivity and quality improve. The BluSoak 2.0 is able to irrigate all different types of crops with different types of water demands. This is a solution to gardens with high square footage and/or canopy space that want to utilize Blumat technology. BluSoak tape systems are ideal for garden beds, raised beds, and other large volumes of soil or growing media. This can provide the ideal moisture levels and growing environments for high square footage and canopy spaces, greenhouses, traditional garden beds, living soil, and many unique cultivation challenges. This method of combining Blumats with BluSoak 2.0 results in healthier, faster growing, and higher yield harvests due to its water efficiency by delivering water only when the plant requires it.
