Description Get started using Blumats with our simple, low-cost Starter Kit. If you only have a few plants or you'd like to learn how Blumats work before converting over to a larger system, this kit is just right for you. This kit is made for a gravity-fed system (does not include fittings to attach to a hose bib or pressure system). Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients — and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Our starter kits are perfect for landscapers and home gardeners. They're easily installed with a pair of scissors and connect directly to your hose, tap, or rain barrel with the help of the Pressure Reducer. Includes five, 5” carrots and all parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Regulator attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). If your reservoir does not have a thru-hull installed, you will have to drill a hole into your reservoir bucket and install a thru-hull piece. For our customers' convenience, we also sell 5-gallon reservoirs with thru-hulls already installed. The Tropf Blumat system is great for watering balcony boxes, planters, hanging baskets, and row crops. It fulfills the needs of the plants on an individual basis, regardless of their location, light levels, or plant type. Our systems save your plants from excessive and improper watering. The Tropf Blumat system remain suitable for plant groupings that require consistent moisture, such as vegetable gardens, bushes, flower beds, grow bags and greenhouse containers. Description UNIVERSAL: Convert rain barrels, water tanks, or any other container into a Blumat reservoir SIMPLE: Drill a hole (using 1/2" bit) into your container, and install the nipple facing outward 8MM OUTPUT: Integrate directly to 8mm flex line or other Blumat-compatible water supply tubing DURABLE: Built to last by the same company bringing you Blumat watering stakes FLEX-COMPATIBLE: Ideally suited for the flex tubing included with most Blumat systems Connect a Blumat system to a rain barrel or water storage tank. Just screw half on the inside of the tank, the other on the outside. The nipple connects to the standard 8mm Blumat water supply/feed line. You can either start with one of these bulkheads, or a Blumat Pressure Reducer, either of these fittings will "start" your Blumat watering system. Use 1/2" drill bit to puncture hole. These bulkheads will work flawlessly with your Blumat. This new Blumat input filter fits on the Blumat Bulkhead Through-Hull Tank Connector, inside the reservoir and keeps sediment and leaves from getting into your supply line. It doesn’t fit on the older tank connectors we had before August 2023 though. The new ones (on the right in the picture below) have two tabs on the sides and a 6-sided jut on the input side, where the old ones have two parallel lines. An inexpensive "insurance policy," this could save you quite a bit of headache if your water doesn't always stay clean.

This kit can water up to 12 plants and you can easily extend it for more. Without batteries, timers, electricity, or even a conventional water source, Blumat Classics siphon water from a reservoir into the plant containers. They give the plants water slowly through a porous ceramic cone so you won’t worry about squeezing the important air pockets out of the potting mix, under, or over-watering. Just place each cone in the potting soil, and connect to the provided main line attached to the reservoir. You can also add more Classics to the main 8mm line or add another kit and second bulkhead fitting to the same bucket to extend the number of plants.
