These kits water up to six plants or a 3 square yard garden. Blumat systems can adjust to any plant type or desired moisture level. This specific kit comes with 9" carrots, or Maxis, which are designed for large plants (those in 15+ gallon pots) to get water deep into the soil. Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients - and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Perfect for landscapers and home gardeners, you can easily install with a pair of scissors! It can directly connect to your reservoir or rain barrel or, with a pressure reducer, to a conventional watering system's hose or faucet. This kit includes six, 9" carrots (Maxis) and all parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Reducer attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). If your reservoir does not have a thru-hull installed, you will have to drill a hole into your reservoir bucket and install a thru-hull piece. For our customers' convenience, we also sell 5-gallon reservoirs with thru-hulls already installed. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Deck and Planter Set covers an area 12 inches in diameter. Just hook it up, stretch out the tubing, and start watering. We use it to water almost 500 plants—much faster and with better results than traditional methods. Includes an on/off valve and multiple adapters to fit common connections:  1/2" pipe thread, male or female 3/4"  threaded pipes, one with a 3/4" FHT, and a versatile fitting with 1/2" FPT x 3/4" MHT &  3/4" MPT. Note: You may need a separate adapter for kitchen sink threads. These kits connect to Blumat and drip systems that already have pressure reducers. Sinks, showers, and long hoses often already have low pressure. You can use hose clamps for medium-high pressure but better to use a real pressure reducer (not just a flow restrictor) if you plan to connect to a water source with more than 15-20 psi.
