Description Make cross connections in 3mm line. You can use these to send distribution drippers in different directions rather than in a straight line. You can also use them as a more economical distribution method instead of using the drippers. Just cut equal lenghts of 3mm tubing and spread them around. This requires more maintenance because roots can grow into the tubing but it does save some dollars. This would be our "Economy" design suggestion. The "Mid-Range" version would use the drippers and the "Deluxe" suggestion would be to use more Blumat carrots. This is more expensive but gives you redundancy rather than having all the eggs in one basket.

Description With the small Blumat kit and 12 carrots or with the XL kit and 40 in a pressure system, the 8 mm Blumat tubing works great. But when you start doing something much larger than that, you may want to start using 1/2" or 3/4" drip tube line. These 3 mm transfer barbs make it easy to do that. Just puch a small hole in your main line (see our Universal Hole Punch) and put one of these in between your Blumat 3 mm line and your main supply pipe. And if you really want to make it convenient, add the 3 mm Quick Connect or better still the 3 mm Quick Connect with auto stop.

A purge valve is used to remove air, particulate matter, or other debris from a water supply line. This can be accomplished in two different ways. One is simply by concluding an 8mm tubing or line with one of these valves. The valve will remain closed 99% of the time, but should be opened if air/debris is suspected in the tubing. The air and/or debris will flow out of the tubing when the valve is opened. The second way to install a purge valve in a blumat watering system is by cutting in the middle of a "loop" design, installing a 3-way 8mm Tee fitting, and installing one of these valves on the open-end of the tee. Simply open the valve to "purge" or clear your lines.

Description These tees are great for branching a side line of Blumats off in a different direction. They're also really good for the middle of a loop in a hydroponic and/or grow room. If you use one of these and a valve, it makes it easy to let air and sediment out before it can cause problems.

Description This is the tubing used to connect Blumat components to your water source. It's an 8 mm European style. You can also use US-style 5/16" drip tube but it's hard to find, not very flexible, and the fittings are harder to put in. Buying these larger rolls saves about 15%.
