  • Blumat Bottle Adapter Plant Watering Stakes - 12 Pack-1

Blumat Bottle Adapter Plant Watering Stakes - 12 Pack

Description Much better than the wine bottle versions because Blumats are so much easier to refill: just cut the bottom off plastic bottle and fill with your regular watering can. (No reason to go back and forth from your sink so many times.) Better than the globe spikes because these disperse the water evenly, not just through a hole in the bottom. Just fit this adapter into almost any standard plastic bottle, fill the bottle with water and push into the soil near a plant. The porous cone will slowly start to distribute water throughout the day. The regular size does about 200 milliliters (.43 pint) during a 24-hour period. The XL, larger size does about 300 milliliters (.63 pint). Guide to Bottle Adapter & Glass Globes

  • Blumat Bottle Cap Adapter-1

    Blumat Bottle Cap Adapter

Description Easily convert a used plastic bottle to a Blumat supply source. This works really well for hanging plants - both inside and outside. Just attach the plastic bottle to the hanger and put the Blumat in the soil. You can cut the bottom off the plastic bottle (you can use these cut off bottoms to make plant holders that keep wooden shelves from getting rings) and fill them from the top. If you prefer to keep the bottle intact, the water will last longer and you don't have to worry about insects getting in it but it's harder to fill. If you use the auto-stop version of this bottle cap though (IG15525), you can more easily move the bottle to fill and put back without spilling the water all over. This uses the thread type common on most one liter plastic bottles - not the same as 3/4" hose thread.

  • 8mm BULKHEAD / Through-Hull Tank Connector-1

    Blumat Bulkhead/Through-Hull (8mm) Tank Connector

    1 review

Description UNIVERSAL: Convert rain barrels, water tanks, or any other container into a Blumat reservoir SIMPLE: Drill a hole (using 1/2" bit) into your container, and install the nipple facing outward 8MM OUTPUT: Integrate directly to 8mm flex line or other Blumat-compatible water supply tubing DURABLE: Built to last by the same company bringing you Blumat watering stakes FLEX-COMPATIBLE: Ideally suited for the flex tubing included with most Blumat systems Connect a Blumat system to a rain barrel or water storage tank. Just screw half on the inside of the tank, the other on the outside. The nipple connects to the standard 8mm Blumat water supply/feed line. You can either start with one of these bulkheads, or a Blumat Pressure Reducer, either of these fittings will "start" your Blumat watering system. Use 1/2" drill bit to puncture hole. These bulkheads will work flawlessly with your Blumat. They are easy to install, durable, perfectly fitted for other Blumat equipment, and can instantly turn any container of your choice into a perfect Blumat reservoir. These can also be used with drip irrigation lines and many other kinds of irrigation equipment. As long as you have 8mm tubing to attach to the nipple this bulkhead will do the trick. We use these on rain barrels, 5-gallon buckets, plastic totes, 55-gallon drums, and every other water vessel/container that you could imagine! After installing one or two, you'll be ready to run your Blumat system. To attach 8mm Blumat water supply line to a rain barrel or water storage tank. This is your classic bulkhead fitting, made in Austria, high quality and efficient for a Blumat system. Bulkhead fittings allow you to penetrate through a wall or barrier, while allowing passage within the fitting. This allow you to tap into a tank of water, while allowing water to pass-through the bulkhead fitting, and into a water supply line. We have these pre-drilled into our 5-gal bucket reservoir, see related products below. Have your own reservoir? No problem, simply drill 1/2" holes into your own water tank and convert it into a Blumat Reservoir. We have even higher quality bullhead fittings, some that stop water flow when disconnected. Check out our bulkhead fittings category. This is the bulk version of this item, so doesn't come with packaging for stores (makes it less-expensive for your convenience). *Reservoir not included, look into Blumat Reservoir or 5-gal bucket if you need a reservoir

  • Blumat Classic Plant Watering Stakes (6 Pack)

Blumat Classic Plant Watering Stakes (6 Pack)

    1 review

    Going fast!

Description Take a vacation and let your plants look after themselves. Blumat Plant Savers ensure a constant supply of water. They automatically supply just the right amount - never too much or not enough. Your plants will love it. They won't experience the drying out that stunts growth or the over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps them from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat Junior will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply. This slow, continual feeding encourages prolific growth. Blumat Juniors will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and the plants gradually dry out. Each Blumat Jr. has a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Several cones may be necessary for larger plants in order to meet the higher water needs. In this case, a larger reservoir of water must also be available. Detailed Instructions: 1. Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat Jr. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl to soak for at least 15 minutes. 2. Holding the cone and cap underwater, knock out the air bubbles in each piece and press the top on tightly. 3. Push the ceramic cone completely into the soil. Extra large plants should be provided with two or three cones. 4. Put the hose right to the bottom of a full container of water. Add a little liquid fertilizer if necessary. 5. The level of water in the container should be level with or below the green cap. Raising or lowering the water container increases or reduces the flow rate. Maintenance: Once a year, place the hose in hot water. Clean the inside of the ceramic cone with a brush and the outside with sandpaper or a pot scrubber type pad. Tips If you intend to be away from home for any length of time, ensure that the water container is large enough. Depending on type, size and season, a plant will require 1/4 to 1 litre (1 qt.) of water weekly. Delivery of water to the soil in the flower pots is automatic. If you do not refill the water container the Blumat Jr. will dry out. To restore the function, the Blumat Jr. must be refilled. (Follow steps 1-5). Description Traveling or too many plants without enough time to take care of them? Blumat Classics can take care of them for you and make everyone think you have a "green thumb." Blumat Digital Soil Moisture Meter

    44 reviews

Description Description This professional moisture meter will show you how dry or wet the soil is at the push of a button. The digital moisture meter can be an ideal tool to help when dialing in your Blumat or other garden irrigation system. Keeping your soil at the ideal moisture level keeps microbes and other microorganism populations happy. *DO NOT GET ELECTRIC/DIGITAL PART OF METER WET. USE PROTECTIVE CAP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING THESE OUTSIDE, HAND-WATERING, OR FREQUENTLY APPLY FOLIAR SPRAYS. How it Works The ceramic extension is soaked in and filled with water, just like a Blumat sensor. When this is inserted into the growing medium, the medium exerts a pressure on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more dry, it pulls harder on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more moist, the force pulling inside the cone is less. These forces of pressure correlate to different readings on the meter. A reading of 0 indicates standard water, while a high reading of 750 or so indicates sawdust completely void of moisture. The digital moisture meter is a tensiometer, but indicates moisture levels using pressure as a correlative. Reset Your Meter! When you first get your Digital Moisture Meter, it is best practice to reset it. It's also advisable to reset it periodically with continuous use. Click here for instructions. One sevice kit can service multiple irrometers: IG17954 Additional Info Additional Info Wait until after watering media to let the moisture evenly disperse and stabilize before trusting readings from the meter. Aim for 100mbar on average in living soil. Some gardeners report best results at 40mbar–I personally get overwatering symptoms there. Let mbar readings on your meter be a guide to plant health, not a tyranny that rules your mental peace. The meter cannot be used in extremely airy or chunky media such as chunky perlite, lava rock, etc. When the ceramic is in contact with air, the pressure readings will be extremely high. However, your plant roots may have access to moisture in these media even when the meter is displaying high readings. Avoid getting the digital display wet. The protective cap is highly encouraged in all circumstances, and is completely necessary for outdoor growers as well as those who supplement with any over-the-top watering. Do not drop or otherwise rattle the display. Keep the digital display in dry storage when it’s not in use. Guide to Blumat Digital Moisture Meter | Irrigation Equipment

Blumat Distibution Drippers (Ten) + 2m of Drip tube - 2 Pack

    Going fast!

Description These are great for watering long plant beds, planter boxes, and giving large plants an even amount of water in a circle around them. They connect to a Tropf-Blumat or a Maxi. This is less expensive than adding more sensors but you may need to add a filter to your system if you use nutrients in your water so they don't clog.  Two barbs let you connect tubing on both sides of the dripper for up to five drip locations from one Tropf-Blumat (dripper chain). The end-distributor dripper has a drip nozzle on one side only for use as the end piece in a dripper chain. You can go as far as 100 cm (39") from the sensor with these and they water about 20 cm wide (8"). Minimum pressure to use them like this is 4.5 psi. You can go down as low as 2 psi but the last dripper or two might not put out much water. By adjusting the black screw on the top, you can use more. In pressure systems, customers report successfully using as many as 25 with just one Blumat sensor.

If your plants and conditions are the same, you can also put one Tropf Blumat in the first pot with one distribution dripper and one or two in each plant after that. One customer reported doing this successfully with 25 distribution drippers running off just one Blumat sensor.

  • Blumat Distribution Drippers - End piece - Individual-1

Blumat Distribution Drippers - End piece - Individual

Description Use these to end a Blumat distribution line. The regular distribution drippers have barbs on both sides so you need a way to end them without water dripping out too fast. You can do that with an end cap (IG15509) or with one of these. They are less expensive than the standard drippers and much easier to take on and off than the end caps. The end caps often need pliers to remove but they just pull on and off.
