  • Blumat Classic Vacation Irrigation Watering Kit

Blumat Classic Vacation Irrigation Watering Kit

    1 review

No power, timers, or stress—this automatic system keeps your plants watered while you're away or just too busy. Easily expandable and perfect for stress-free, "green-thumb" results. Without batteries, timers, electricity, or even a conventional water source, Blumat Classics siphon water from a reservoir into the plant containers. They give the plants water slowly through a porous ceramic cone so you won’t worry about squeezing the important air pockets out of the potting mix, under, or over-watering. Just place each cone in the potting soil, and connect to the provided main line attached to the reservoir. You can also add more Classics to the main 8mm line or add another kit and second bulkhead fitting to the same bucket to extend the number of plants. This specific kit can water up to 10 days minimum, 20 days max. Click here to read/download instructions.

  • Blumat Classics - Indoor Kit - Automatic Plant Watering Stakes-1

    Indoor Blumat Classic Kit

Our indoor kit features six Blumat stakes. These Blumats ensure a constant supply of water to your indoor plants. They automatically supply just the right amount -never too much or too little. Your plants won't experience any drying out that stunts growth or over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps plants from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, a ceramic cone gradually delivers water into the surrounding dirt, which creates a vacuum within the cone that draws water from a nearby container of water. And once the soil reaches a desired moisture level, the Blumat will stop pulling in water. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply — slow, continual feeding encourages prolific plant growth. Vacation without worrying about watering your plants. Just fill up a container with enough water to last your plants while you're gone - Blumat will do the rest! No need to re-pot, move your plants, or hire a plant sitter. Great while you're at home, too! Simply fill a water container, connect your Blumat, and take care of many different plants and plant types at the same time! Easy and simple to set up Plants grow healthier and faster Slow and steady watering allows water to warm up before going into the soil, eliminating the worry of shocking your plants. Blumat stakes will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). Be sure to place your water supply within this range. If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and your plants will gradually dry out. Each Blumat holds a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Use several cones or a Blumat Classic XL for larger plants with higher water needs. In this case, also be sure to use a larger water reservoir. With the included Extend-a-Kit, you can expand the reach of your Blumat stakes. Regarding plant health, sometimes it's best to have your water source further than the 33" that comes with the Blumat. This little kit gives you 10 extra feet of 8mm tubing plus 2 couplings, a T-splitter and a Y-splitter adapter. The couplings allow you extend your watering range and the T- and Y-splitters let you water 2 plants from a single water line. Guide to the Blumat Classic Components This Kit Includes: 4 Blumat Classic Stakes (IG15693) 2 Blumat Classic XL Stakes (IG16897) 1 Blumat Extend-A-Kit (IG14610) 1 3mm Y Connect Adapter (BM15502)

Take a vacation and let your plants look after themselves. Blumat Classic Plant Savers ensure a constant supply of water. They automatically supply just the right amount - never too much or not enough. Your plants will love it. They won't experience the drying out that stunts growth or the over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps them from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply. This slow, continual feeding encourages prolific growth. Blumat Classic will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and the plants gradually dry out. Each Blumat has a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Several cones may be necessary for larger plants in order to meet the higher water needs. In this case, a larger reservoir of water must also be available. Set Up Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl to soak for at least 15 minutes. Holding the cone and cap underwater, knock out the air bubbles in each piece and press the top on tightly. Push the ceramic cone completely into the soil. Extra large plants should be provided with two or three cones. Put the hose right to the bottom of a full container of water. Add a little liquid fertilizer if necessary. The level of water in the container should be level with or below the green cap. Raising or lowering the water container increases or reduces the flow rate. Maintenance Once a year, place the hose in hot water. Clean the inside of the ceramic cone with a brush and the outside with sandpaper or a pot scrubber type pad. Tips If you intend to be away from home for any length of time, ensure that the water container is large enough. Depending on type, size and season, a plant will require 1/4 to 1 litre (1 qt.) of water weekly. Delivery of water to the soil in the flower pots is automatic. If you do not refill the water container the Blumat will dry out. To restore the function, the Blumat Jr. must be refilled. (Follow steps 1-5).
