This small kit comes with a Pressure Reducer, which allows you to connect and operate your system with a hose/water faucet and/or a custom pump (pressurized) system. This kit comes with 8 Blumat carrots (5"), however, a system utilizing a pressure reducer can be expanded to have up to 500 different watering spots or drippers.

How it works
The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops dripping water.
Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Small Box Kit covers an area 12 inches in diameter. To expand and customize your own system, add additional Supply Hoses, Outdoor Sensors, and Distributor Drippers.
PLEASE NOTE: This system does not include a water source. You must have a hose bib water source for this system to connect to. AUSTRIAN-ENGINEERED - This high-quality component is designed and manufactured by clever Austrians! Blumat systems need low pressure, much less than comes from normal house water connections. The blumat Pressure Reducer allows for easy integration of a municipal (or otherwise pressurized line, such as from a well) water line into a blumat, blusoak, or easysoak watering system. BEWARE IMPOSTERS! Many pressure reducers are not real pressure reducers at all, but are merely flow controllers, and reduce flow rates. However, reduced flow rates DO NOT necessarily correlate to reduced pressures. This is a true pressure reducer, and will reduce any incoming water (with a maximum pressure input of 87PSi) down to a 15PSi (1 bar) output. This is ideally suited and low enough for blumat systems and their components. Higher pressure will push tubing connections apart, and increase likelihood of flooding. This pressure reducer is extremely easy to use. The input side screws onto a standard 3/4" hose bibb or hose threading, often found on taps outside the home, or even faucets inside the home. The output side (featured with collar) is ideally suited for 8mm tubing (I suggest using our super-flex tubing). This is the size that integrates directly with tropf blumats. This adaptation makes setting up a blumat system from a hose or pressurized line an absolute breeze, and you can install your blumats in seconds. Blumat systems need low pressure, much less than comes from normal house water connections. Some of our kits include one of these but if you'd like to install the other ones or the separate components to a home water system, you'll need one of these Pressure Reducers. In gravity systems you'll also need one if your storage tank is high uphill. In Grow Rooms and Greenhouses with a reservoir for mixing nutrients, you can connect a small pressure pump to this and automatically feed your plants when you water. On one side it adapts to a 3/4" male hose thread and on the other directly to the Blumat 8 mm supply tube. Maximum input pressure is 87 psi.

Description
The Tropf-Blumat Maxi acts as a regulator and dripper, just like the standard 5” Tropf-Blumat. This one is 9 inches long though. You put it in the ground 6 - 7.5 inches so it senses the moisture at a deeper level. This is important when your plants get bigger because the regular Blumat sensor might turn the water off too soon. This one might turn it off too soon if your plant still has surface roots. Some growers use both - especially if they are growing in coco or a hydroponic system. The Tropf-Blumat (Drip-Blumat) is a sensor that supplies plants with drips of water via thin tubing. As the soil dries, its natural suction power triggers the opening of the Tropf Blumat allowing the water to flow. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the Tropf Blumat automatically stops. The system functions fully automatically. Every plant, every container or group of plants requires at least 1 Tropf-Blumat adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. Larger containers or surfaces require longer or more than one sensor. All Tropf-Blumats are connected using one supply tube, this allows for flexibility in the layout and is changeable at any time. Bulkheads are installed with nipples facing inward for shipping only. The bulkheads/spigots should be flipped around so that the nipples face outward for garden, horticultural, and hydroponic applications.
These will work as reservoirs for Blumat watering systems, can work in hydroponic bucket system(s), can replace hydroponic reservoir(s), and are essentially kits for water barrels with spigots! You certainly don't need to be DIY-friendly to use these buckets, as we do the work requiring elbow grease and tools to get the bulkheads installed.
These will deliver water wherever you take your tubing! The bulkheads perfectly integrate to 8mm tubing. We would highly recommend our ultra-high quality and durable silicone super-flex tubing. This can be installed onto this bucket - no tools required! It just slips over the nipples/barbs on the bulkheads that are pre-installed in the container.
This 8mm tubing is the ideal size for Blumats, and will slip right over the barbs on the 8mm x 3mm x 8mm Tees (included with each Tropf Blumat).
This bucket is really like hitting the "easy button" for Blumat systems, hydroponic watering systems, backyard gardening applications, or just about any other application that you require a 5-gallon reservoir for. This is really like a water barrel spigot kit that has already been configured and assembled for you!

The two thru-hull fittings are installed backwards for shipment. When you receive your reservoir simply unscrew and flip the fittings.
Grow plants anywhere!
Just attach your Blumat 8mm line, fill with water, and almost instantly your plants are taken care of. This includes two installed Blumat adapters and a black lid.
They have two connectors to make it easy to set up a "Blumat Loop" system. With these the water goes from 2 directions effectively giving you twice the capacity. It also equalizes the pressure and is a kind of "insurance policy" - if your line gets kinked, something clogs it up, or someone accidentally puts something heavy on it, all the plants will still get water.
These are made from recyclable (#2) HDPE plastic called "the only safe plastic for drinking water" so you don't need to worry about anything bad going to your plants. The black color prevents algae and other nasties from growing in your water and also makes the water going to the roots hotter - a little known secret for superior plant growth.

High capacity Blumat Juniors XL - for tropical and larger plants that need more water. Take a vacation and let your plants look after themselves. Blumat Plant Savers ensure a constant supply of water. They automatically supply just the right amount - never too much or not enough. Your plants will love it. They won't experience the drying out that stunts growth or the over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps them from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat Junior will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply. This slow, continual feeding encourages prolific growth. Blumat Juniors will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and the plants gradually dry out. Each Blumat Jr. has a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Several cones may be necessary for larger plants in order to meet the higher water needs. In this case, a larger reservoir of water must also be available. Detailed Instructions: 1. Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat Jr. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl to soak for at least 15 minutes. 2. Holding the cone and cap underwater, knock out the air bubbles in each piece and press the top on tightly. 3. Push the ceramic cone completely into the soil. Extra large plants should be provided with two or three cones. 4. Put the hose right to the bottom of a full container of water. Add a little liquid fertilizer if necessary. 5. The level of water in the container should be level with or below the green cap. Raising or lowering the water container increases or reduces the flow rate. Maintenance: Once a year, place the hose in hot water. Clean the inside of the ceramic cone with a brush and the outside with sandpaper or a pot scrubber type pad. Tips If you intend to be away from home for any length of time, ensure that the water container is large enough. Depending on type, size and season, a plant will require 1/4 to 1 litre (1 qt.) of water weekly. Delivery of water to the soil in the flower pots is automatic. If you do not refill the water container the Blumat Jr. will dry out. To restore the function, the Blumat Jr. must be refilled. (Follow steps 1-5).

It does not include a pressure regulator, but it does come with 2 thru-hull adapters (for connecting to a reservoir), an on/off valve, and an extra Tee splitter.
