Pressure and Flow Reducers

Blumats require a pressure below 15 psi, and nothing above 8 psi for BluSoak tape. Blumats act as additional pressure reducers; in systems that combine Blumats and BlukSoak tape, a 15psi pressure reducer can be used (IG14606). Blumats and BluSoak both hold an ideal pressure at about 3 psi. Common, inexpensive pressure reducers are essentially flow restrictors and don't actually lower pressure unless the flow exceeds optimal Blumat system range.

  • Flow Controller Circle Ring - Red (up to 200' of BluSoak)-1

Flow Controller Circle Ring - Red (up to 200' of BluSoak)

NOTE: This is only the inner ring of one of our flow restrictors. You may install this onto your spigot or supply line. We also sell fully-assembled 'Red' flow restrictors (IG16331) that can be easily attached to your system. Flow restrictors function similarly to a pressure reducer. However, they regulate certain flow rates that should be implemented into your system. We install flow restrictors in our BluSoak systems in order to restrict the total amount of water that can enter the system at a given time. This acts as a safety mechanism to ensure your system doesn't flood or water too rapidly in case of malfunctions. This 'Red' version limits flow for our mega drip tape to 2 gallons/hour and should be installed when using lengths of BluSoak between 100 to 200 feet.

  • Pressure Reducer, 25 psi, 3/4" FHT x 3/4" FPT-1

    Pressure Reducer, 25 psi, 3/4" FHT x 3/4" FPT

This is the typical flow restrictor mis-named pressure reducer. They do reduce pressure but only if the flow range is at least 2 GPM. They work well in our EasyDrip and EasySoak systems but not in normal Blumat or BluSoak set-ups. They need at least 20 psi on the input side but not more than  120 psi.

  • Flow Controller Circle Ring - Black (up to 750' of BluSoak)-1

Flow Controller Circle Ring - Black (up to 750' of BluSoak)

NOTE: This is only the inner ring of one of our flow restrictors. You may install this onto your spigot or supply line. We also sell fully-assembled 'Black' flow restrictors (IG16374) that can be easily attached to your system. This 'Black' version limits flow for our mega drip tape to 9.0 gallons/hour and should be installed when using lengths of BluSoak between 200 to 750 feet.

  • Flow Controller 8mm to 8mm, Up to 200'-750' of BluSoak, Silver-1

Flow Controller 8mm to 8mm, Up to 200'-750' of BluSoak, Silver

This is an assembled flow restrictor unit that can fit into a a 8mm supply line. Flow controllers work similar to a pressure reducer, but instead limit the certain flow rate that can be entered into a system. We use Flow controllers in our BluSoak systems in order to limit the total amount of water that can enter the system, this acts as a safety mechanism to make sure you do not flood your system too rapidly in case of any errors. This particular product limits the flow of our mega drip tape to 0.15GPM per min, and should be used when using lengths of BluSoak between 200 to 750 feet.

  • Flow Controller 8mm to 8mm, Up to 1500'-2500' of BluSoak, Gold-1

Flow Controller 8mm to 8mm, Up to 1500'-2500' of BluSoak, Gold

This is an assembled flow restrictor unit that can fit into an 8mm supply line. This particular product limits the flow of our mega drip tape to 0.5GPM per min, and should be used when using lengths of BluSoak between 1500 to 2500 feet.

  • Blumat Pressure Reducer 7.5psi 3/4" MHT output

Blumat GmbH & Co. KG Blumat Pressure Reducer 7.5psi 3/4" MHT output

DescriptionLike our standard Blumat Pressure Reducer but with 3/4"" hose thread output! The standard Blumat pressure reducers work great for most systems. But for larger systems that need a higher flow rate, this becomes a better choice. This also works better when there's a long distance between the pressure reducer and your plants.A TRUE REDUCER - Not just a flow controller that only works with high flows, these reduce pressure in Blumat systems with extremely low flow ratesEASY TO INSTALL - Uses standard 3/4"" hose thread for both input and ouput sidesHIGH QUALITY - Built to last from ABS plastic and designed for longest life Blumat systems need constant low pressure — much less than municipal home and farm pressure. These reducers insure a constant pressure.Often, people call flow restrictors "pressure reducers" and they can reduce pressure — but only if the system has a high flow. These true pressure reducers take input an pressure up to 87 psi and drop it down to 7.5 psi (.5 bar) output. Ideally suited for Blumat and other drip irrigation systems, lowering the pressure also prevents tubing connections from coming apart and creating a flood. In gravity systems, you don't need a reducer unless you have a storage tank high up a hill, 35' or more vertical. Horizontal distance doesn't make much difference.3/4" Female Hose Thread input, 3/4" Male Hose Thread output, Max pressure in 87 psi, output pressure limited at 7.5 psi max
