Sun-Mar engineers designed this low profile toilet by developing and patenting a new variable diameter Bio-drum which is small at the front and large at the rear. To maintain the uninterrupted lines of the Compact, a patented Bio-drum handle recesses into the body of the unit to mix and aerate the compost. The Compact differs from the Excel in that all three chambers are smaller, which makes the Compact ideally suited to light residential or light to medium cottage use. As with the Excel, a 2" vent stack attaches to the rear of the Compact. A 1/2" emergency drain at the rear offers protection against heavy or residential use, or prolonged power outage. The 12 VOLT FAN is meant to accelerate airflow in all non-electric units. It comes pre-installed in an 11" piece of 4" diameter vent pipe so that it will fit inline in your vent stack. It also protects against downdraft and increases the evaporative performance of your non-electric unit by about 10 to 15% (still not enough to evaporate all liquids on an NE). The 2 watt, 12V fan option increases capacity and evaporation for heavy or residential use. Fan option uses 2.4 watts. Its purchase is optional with an Excel NE, a Centrex 2000 NE, or a Centrex 1000 NE.

This elegant Sun Mar Dry Toilet is designed for use with the waterfree Centrex 2000 AF (Air Flow) family and Centrex 3000 AF family of central composting systems. Available in either White or Bone, the Dry Toilet has a seat height of 15" and a "regular sized" toilet seat. The vent system on all AF units continuously draws air down the toilet to prevent odors in the bathroom. However, if the toilet is too high above the composter for air to be drawn down, the Dry Toilet should be vented directly. To do this, a 3" or 4" vent pipe can be installed at the rear left or rear right of the toilet, and, if necessary, a 12 Volt fan can be fitted in a section of 4" vent pipe to enhance air flow. With a continuous flow system, rotation of the drum moves compost along the larger and longer 3000 series drum, before it drops automatically into the collection housing at the end of the unit.
