    Blumat Digital Moisture Meter

    Out of stock

Description Description This professional moisture meter will show you how dry or wet the soil is at the push of a button. The digital moisture meter can be an ideal tool to help when dialing in your Blumat or other garden irrigation system. Keeping your soil at the ideal moisture level keeps microbes and other microorganism populations happy. *DO NOT GET ELECTRIC/DIGITAL PART OF METER WET. USE PROTECTIVE CAP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING THESE OUTSIDE, HAND-WATERING, OR FREQUENTLY APPLY FOLIAR SPRAYS. How it Works The ceramic extension is soaked in and filled with water, just like a Blumat sensor. When this is inserted into the growing medium, the medium exerts a pressure on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more dry, it pulls harder on the water inside the cone. When the medium is more moist, the force pulling inside the cone is less. These forces of pressure correlate to different readings on the meter. A reading of 0 indicates standard water, while a high reading of 750 or so indicates sawdust completely void of moisture. The digital moisture meter is a tensiometer, but indicates moisture levels using pressure as a correlative. Reset Your Meter! When you first get your Digital Moisture Meter, it is best practice to reset it. It's also advisable to reset it periodically with continuous use. Click here for instructions. One sevice kit can service multiple irrometers: IG17954 Additional Info Additional Info Wait until after watering media to let the moisture evenly disperse and stabilize before trusting readings from the meter. Aim for 100mbar on average in living soil. Some gardeners report best results at 40mbar–I personally get overwatering symptoms there. Let mbar readings on your meter be a guide to plant health, not a tyranny that rules your mental peace. The meter cannot be used in extremely airy or chunky media such as chunky perlite, lava rock, etc. When the ceramic is in contact with air, the pressure readings will be extremely high. However, your plant roots may have access to moisture in these media even when the meter is displaying high readings. Avoid getting the digital display wet. The protective cap is highly encouraged in all circumstances, and is completely necessary for outdoor growers as well as those who supplement with any over-the-top watering. Do not drop or otherwise rattle the display. Keep the digital display in dry storage when it’s not in use. Guide to Blumat Digital Moisture Meter | Irrigation Equipment

Blumat 12 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit - Gravity Deluxe with 5 Gallon Reservoir

    Out of stock

Description Our medium kits are designed to water areas up to 3.5 square meters, or 12 potted plants. Blumat systems can adjust to any plant type or desired moisture level. This specific kit comes with 5" carrots, which are better for smaller potted plants (10 gallons at most). If you have large plants (10+ gallon pots), we recommend using 9" carrots, or Maxis, to get water deep into the soil. This Kit Includes: 2 - Blumat Tees - 8mm x 3mm x 8mm 1 - Blumat 8mm Tee 1 - Classic Pipette 1 - Blumat 8mm shut Off Valve 25 ft Red 8mm Super-Flex tubing 1 - Blumat Medium Box Kit 1 - Blumat Water Reservoir 5 Gallon Bucket with Bulkhead fittings 1 - Water level indicator for 5 gallon bucket Increase your yields and decrease grow times. Our fully-automatic, self-watering systems save time, water, and nutrients — and still ensure healthier, more potent, and faster-growing crops. Perfect for landscapers and home gardeners. It is easily installed with a pair of scissors and connects directly to your reservoir. This kit includes twelve, 5” carrots and all the parts required for a gravity-fed system. Reservoirs should be at least 3' above ground-level. An optional Pressure Reducer attached to garden hose or faucet can provide enough water for up to 500 Blumat Carrots (See 'Related Products'). The Tropf Blumat system is great for watering balcony boxes, planters, hanging baskets, and row crops. It fulfills the needs of the plants on an individual basis, regardless of their location, light levels, or plant type. Our systems save your plants from excessive and improper watering. Tropf Blumat system are ideal for plant groupings that require consistent moisture, such as vegetable gardens, bushes, flower beds, grow bags and greenhouse containers. Not only do your plants receive the right amount of water, slow and consistent dripping ensures that your plants receive warmed water, avoiding shock. This Deck and Planter Kit is a great way to start your customized irrigation system. The flexible system can be expanded to include up to 500 drippers. See 'Blumat Accessories' to expand our systems to your specific needs. How it works The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water. Each Blumat Outdoor Sensor in the Deck and Planter Set covers an area 12 inches in diameter. To expand and customize your own system, add additional Supply Hoses, Outdoor Sensors, and Distributor Drippers. PLEASE NOTE: This Tropf Blumat systems do not include a Pressure Reducer. You will need this if you are connecting your system to a threaded spigot, such as your hose/home water supply or the spigot on a rain barrel or reservoir. The Pressure Reducer is in 'Related Products' below. Let us know if we can help you select the right products for your custom irrigation system! Note: Blumat Classics (Juniors) and bottle adapters are designed for houseplants while Tropf-Blumat Sensors (the one's with the small adjustable brown knob on top) are designed for greenhouses, growrooms, decks, and outside gardens. Blumats Austria says "Please don't use the Tropf-Blumats indoors" because if hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest, or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage an indoor floor, drywall, carpet, or furniture. We, and many others, do in fact use these systems inside ourselves, however, we are generally around enough that if a problem did occur, we would be able to notice a problem and fix it in time (not the case if someone is on vacation). We have many guides for being able to set these up the proper way and avoid a run-away or general mistakes. Please contact us for any help, we are always here to help make your life easier.

  • Blumat Classics - 3-pack - Automatic Plant Watering Stakes-1

Blumat Classics - 3-pack - Automatic Plant Watering Stakes

Description The main reason houseplants die is from improper watering, mainly from overwatering but also from not enough water. Blumat is made in Austria, a trusted brand that has been creating high quality watering solutions since 1965. Blumat Watering Systems keep your houseplants watered. Simple, efficient, and easy to install; your plants can take care of themselves while you are on vacation or otherwise busy with the rest of your life. Let Your Plants Look After Themselves! Never Over or Under-Water Again Blumat Classics function simply, using a siphon to pull water from a reservoir into a container, emitting it through the porous ceramic cone. Austrian-Engineered plant stakes that are superior in design, material quality, and durability. Details Take a vacation and let your plants look after themselves. Blumat Plant Savers ensure a constant supply of water. They automatically supply just the right amount - never too much or not enough. Your plants will love it. They won't experience the drying out that stunts growth or the over-watering that squeezes the air out of the soil and keeps them from "breathing" properly. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat Junior will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. You can even add fertilizer to the water supply. This slow, continual feeding encourages prolific growth. Blumat Juniors will only draw water up 12 inches (30cm). If the surface of the water in your container is lower than this, the flow of water will be restricted and the plants gradually dry out. Each Blumat Jr. has a limit on how fast it can deliver water. Several cones may be necessary for larger plants in order to meet the higher water needs. In this case, a larger reservoir of water must also be available. Instructions Step 1 Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl for at least 15 minutes. Submerge the ceramic cones. Step 2 Remove the cone from the water, while keeping it as full of water as possible. Secure the green cap on top. Step 3 Push the ceramic cone into the soil. Place the anchor on the far end of the 3mm tubing into a reservoir. How does it work? As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. Adjust Water Flow   If the Blumat is over-watering your plant, you can place the reservoir lower (relative to the Blumat). The reservoir can be as far as 12″ below the Blumat while still watering your plant, albeit slowly. If the Blumat is under-watering your plant, you can raise the reservoir relative to the Blumat. The higher the reservoir, the faster the flow rate. The ceramic cone is porous and allows water to be absorbed and released when placed in wet and dry mediums. The bigger the reservoir/container of water, the longer they water your houseplants. Works for all Types of Plants For cactus or plants that need less water, lower the reservoir to even (or below) the plant to only allow watering when the medium is almost completely dry. For tropical plants or plants that need more water, raise the reservoir and gravity will help give these plants the larger amount of water they need to thrive. Water discharge is approx. 75 ml / 24 h or 125 ml / 24 h (XL size) Video
